After giving San Diego Comic-Con attendees an early glimpse at his upcoming graphic novel Marvel Dimensions, Alex Ross has released the book’s first lettered interior pages online. The six-page preview, which leads up to the Original Human Torch’s origin, offers readers their first look inside the hardcover ahead of its Sept. 1 release from Abrams ComicArts.

Marvel Dimensions will begin by revisiting the origins of Spider-Man, the Hulk, Iron Man, Wolverine and other Marvel heroes through a series of fully painted spreads narrated by a mysterious voice. As the story unfolds, however, that narrator’s true identity and motives begin to reshape the Marvel Universe in unexpected ways, leading into a larger mystery.
The 112-page hardcover launches the latest entry in Abrams ComicArts’ Marvel Arts line, which is curated by Ross. Along with the oversized painted illustrations, the book includes an original comic story that promises to “change everything,” according to the publisher.
