Avengelyne relaunches at Image Comics this October

Rob Liefeld and Daniel Mainé usher in a new beginning for the ’90s heroine.

Rob Liefeld is bringing one of his signature creations back to comics this fall, as he teams with artist Daniel Mainé on a new Avengelyne ongoing series at Image Comics.

First appearing in 1995 at Liefeld’s Maximum Press, the avenging angel was co-created by Liefeld, former Image publisher Tony Lobito and model Cathy Christian, whose likeness the character is based on. The character has appeared in various titles published by Maximum, Avatar Press and Image Comics over the years, and a movie adaptation of the character continues in pre-production at Warner Bros.

“Avengelyne is all the way back!” Liefeld said. “Finding a creative partner on par with Daniel Mainé was essential in creating these new adventures. Daniel is blowing me away, a perfect match for our Avenging Angel. As with all my titles, I wait until the right talent manifests, and I wouldn’t be doing this without Daniel. His work is certain to impress.”

Pallie Paul Allor + Chris Evenhuis explore generational horror in ‘Filthy Lambs’

Mad Cave’s new horror series follows a wealthy family whose fortune is built on a blood-soaked pact with Hell.

Every family has skeletons in the closet, but the Grimaldis keep something much worse in their basement.

Mad Cave Studios has announced Filthy Lambs, a new horror series from writer and letterer Pallie Paul Allor, artist Chris Evenhuis and colorist Sjan Weijers Launching in October, the series blends occult horror, family drama and dark comedy into a story about the hidden cost of inherited wealth.

“Writing Filthy Lambs, I wondered if the woman in the basement could hear the children laughing,” Allor said. “I knew she could smell the candles burning and feel the rope digging into her wrists. But could she hear the children? The birds screeching in the conservatory? Could she hear the family matriarch telling her children that the family is blessed? The family is not blessed. The family is haunted, not by ghosts, but by a contract forged in hell. They’re haunted by every warm and comfortable night they’ve spent in a house splattered by decades of blood.”

Dynamite splits Sam + Dean into dueling ‘Supernatural’ series this fall

Chuck Brown, Rapha Lobosco, Paulina Ganucheau and Kendall Goode launch a new era for the Winchester brothers, who go their separate ways following September’s ‘Wayward’ special.

Dynamite Entertainment is taking Supernatural in a new direction this fall, launching the first pair of interconnected solo comic series starring Sam and Dean Winchester.

The new approach begins in September with Supernatural: Wayward, a one-shot by Paulina Ganucheau and John Amor that separates the Winchester brothers before spinning them into their own ongoing adventures in October.

According to Dynamite, Wayward finds Sam and Dean facing forces powerful enough to drive them onto separate paths, setting the stage for two parallel series that will follow the brothers as they investigate mysteries in different parts of the country.

‘Canto’ returns this fall in an ongoing comic series from Dark Horse

David M. Booher and Drew Zucker reunite for ‘Canto: The Clockwork Chronicles,’ which kicks off in November.

One of comics’ all-ages heroes is embarking on his biggest adventure yet this fall. as Dark Horse Comics has announced Canto: The Clockwork Chronicles, the first ongoing comic series starring the fan-favorite clockwork knight.

The new title, which launches in November, reunites co-creators David M. Booher and Drew Zucker, alongside colorist Vittorio Astone and letterer AndWorld Design.

“Canto has always lived in an expansive world, full of undiscovered stories about courage and adventure and helping others,” Booher said. “That’s why the new ongoing series The Clockwork Chronicles is about expanding the adventures for new readers meeting the character for the first time. The whole team has worked hard to keep the magic that makes Canto so captivating while launching an exciting new era of stories.”

Exclusive | Aliens take over the White House in this preview of ‘The Toxic Avenger Comics’ #10

Matt Bors and Fred Harper wrap up their ‘Toxie Goes to Washington’ arc in next week’s issue from Ahoy Comics.

We’re pleased to kick off the week with an exclusive first look at The Toxic Avenger Comics #10, the conclusion of the “Toxie Goes to Washington” storyline from writer Matt Bors and artist Fred Harper. It goes on sale July 29 from Ahoy Comics.

This story arc began in issue #6 with Toxie arriving in Washington, D.C., and things haven’t gone well for our hero. He finds himself framed for the murder of the president, while the “new female human leader” — who is obviously not an alien in disguise; why would you think that? It’s perfectly normal to remove your skin on live TV — continues to consolidates power in an effort to destroy the Earth AND ban all comics, to boot. Dastardly!
