The first issue of five arrives in November.
Marvel has announced Captain America/Iron Man, a new five-issue miniseries by Derek Landy and Ángel Unzueta that will debut in November.
According to Marvel.com, the miniseries will take the two Avengers “on an epic adventure that will explore the pair’s fascinating dynamic and history as they go up against a mysterious new threat from Hydra.”

The upcoming The Death of Doctor Strange miniseries won’t send the Master of the Mystical Arts off into the great beyond quietly. Marvel has announced several tie-ins that show the “major impact” his death has on the rest of Earth — and on the Avengers, Spider-Man, White Fox and Strange Academy in particular.
If you haven’t heard, the Sorcerer Supreme will follow in the footsteps of many other heroes who were killed in the line of battle in what’s turning out to be more than just a miniseries, but an entire event. Jed MacKay and Lee Garbett are the creative team for the main miniseries, which kicks off next month.
Then in October, Marvel will release two specials, featuring the Avengers and Strange Academy. Alex Paknadel and Ryan Bodenheim will team up for The Death of Doctor Strange: Avengers, while Skottie Young and Mike Del Mundo will helm Strange Academy Presents: The Death of Doctor Strange. Then, in November, Jed MacKay and Marcelo Ferreira present The Death of Doctor Strange: Spider-Man, while Alyssa Wong and Andie Tong bring The White Fox into the action.

Marvel has released three teasers for X-Men: Inferno, the upcoming X-Men crossover event that shares a name with a 1989 X-Men crossover event (not to be confused with The Trial of Magneto, another X-Men event that kicks off in August and also shares a name with a 1980s X-Men storyline.)
The teasers all build on the concept of trust, suggesting that you pretty much can’t trust anyone on Krakoa these days:
“An homage to the original house ads for 1989’s milestone X-Men crossover Inferno, Silva’s artwork presents all the major players of the upcoming saga and teases the day of reckoning that will soon be upon them,” Marvel.com says about the teasers. Inferno is written by Jonathan Hickman with artwork by Valerio Schiti, R.B. Silva and Stefano Caselli.
“I’m very excited that we’re finally getting to share with everyone the follow-up to House of X/Powers of X,” Hickman said. “The story is 160 pages over four issues drawn exquisitely by Valerio Schiti, R.B. Silva and Stefano Caselli. I cannot wait for people to read it.”
Inferno #1 arrives Sept. 29.

Like they did recently with Giant-Size X-Men and Captain America, Marvel is enlisting an impressive list of artists to redraw two key issues of Fantastic Four in celebration of the comic’s 60th birthday.
John Romita Jr., Walt Simonson, Sanford Greene, Daniel Warren Johnson, Paco Medina, Adam Hughes and Michael Allred are just a few of the artists who will each redraw a page of Fantastic Four #1 and Fantastic Four Annual #3, the wedding of Reed Richards and Sue Storm. Both comics were originally created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

AfterShock Comics has announced a new project featuring souls escaping from Hell, and the powers that be sending the worst of the worst after them — The Heathens, led by pirate queen Ching Shih.
Co-writers Cullen Bunn and Heath Amodio, who together founded Hustle & Heart Films, are working with artist Sami Kivelä, colorist Jason Wordie and letterer Simon Bowland on the series. Shih’s team will include several other notorious historical figures helping her on her mission, including Wild West outlaw Billy the Kid, gangster Lucky Luciano and Russian con artist Sofia the Golden Hand.
“Anyone who is familiar with me as a creator knows I love historical figures and time periods,” Bunn said in his email newsletter. “They also know I love infusing stories featuring those characters and time periods with a healthy dose of the supernatural. Heath brought the seed of this idea to me, and I loved it from the jump. It has history, villains, even worse villains, supernatural worlds and redemption — everything that I could hope for in a book!”

Ho Che Anderson, writer of King, Sand & Fury and Godhead, will team up with three different artists for a three-issue miniseries starring Luke Cage this fall. Luke Cage: City of Fire finds Harlem’s hero taking on “a shadowy rogue group” called the Regulators, who have ties to NYC Mayor Wilson Fisk.
Farid Karami will draw the first issue, with Ray-Anthony Height doing issue #2 and Sean Damien Hill drawing issue #3.
“I can’t express how excited I am to be doing a project with Marvel, and about the level of talent they’ve lined up to work on it with me,” said Anderson. “I have been given the freedom to explore a subject I’m so passionate about through the lens of characters I’ve loved since I was a kid, and I fully intend to work overtime to make sure the results are worthy of the trust I’ve been granted. Fortunately, the heavy lifting will be accomplished by my incredible collaborators who’ll make me look better than I am!”

You can never have too many comics aimed at young readers, and last week Marvel announced a new line of comics retelling the origins of some familiar faces aimed at the younger crowd — Marvel Legends.
The first character getting the Legends treatment will be Black Panther, in a four-issue miniseries by author Tochi Onyebuchi and illustrator Setor Fiadzigbey.

Ajak and Makkari of the Eternals will break out into their own one-shot this October, courtesy of Eternals writer Kieron Gillen and artist Kei Zama. The story will find the duo coming into contact with the Avengers of 1,000,000 BCE, who have played a big part in Jason Aaron’s run on Avengers.
“When developing Eternals, Ajak and Makkari were two of the characters I was most excited about,” Gillen told Marvel.com. “I had so many ideas. The problem was trying to find a place to introduce them in a way which gives enough space to show what a fascinating, funny and genuinely heartbreaking odd-couple they are. Suffice to say, this is the space, and I can’t wait to show what Kei, Esad and I have cooked up with them. Also, taking the Avengers of 1,000,000 BCE out for a spin. I’ll be honest – the first time I saw Ghost Rider on the back of a Mammoth, I did think ‘I’ll be having some of that, thank you very much.’”

San Jose’s infamous tourist attraction The Winchester Mystery House is getting the comic treatment once again in a new series from Source Point Press.
If you aren’t familiar with it, the Winchester Mystery House was the home of Sarah Lockwood Pardee Winchester, the widow of William Wirt Winchester and heiress to a large portion of the Winchester rifle fortune. After losing her husband and child, Sarah moved from Connecticut to San Jose, California where she bought a farmhouse. From 1886 to 1922, construction seemingly never ceased as the original eight-room farmhouse grew into the world’s most unusual and sprawling mansion. Supposedly it is haunted by all the ghosts of people killed by Winchester firearms.
The new comic will be written by Joshua Werner and illustrated by Dustin Irvin.
“The Winchester Mystery House is a labyrinth full of secrets, and it is my great pleasure to bring those secrets to the reader and unravel them,” Werner said. “Sarah Winchester was a brilliant person, incredibly ahead of her time, and deliciously complex. Weaving her tale and the story of this house into the comic book medium with the beautiful art of Dustin Irvin is a dream come true. And the reader is in for some shocks and surprises.”

Marko Stojanović, Siniša Banović, Aljoša Tomić and Taylor Esposito will posse up in October for an alternate history take on Jack the Ripper, as they tell the story of how he fled England to hide out in the American West.
Cross to Bear will kick off on Oct. 13 from AfterShock Comics, as the notorious serial killer is pursued by a group with ties to the Crusades.
“The book is about Jack the Ripper fleeing to America in 1889 and heading straight to the Wild West – because his own savagery can avoid detection at the still savage frontier,” Stojanović said. “He is, however, pursued by the Order made up from the descendants of Crusaders knights set on eradicating the unnatural – and what could be more unnatural than the first documented serial killer grabbing all the headlines and causing mass hysteria? Only thing is, these crusaders are far from their usual haunts, and they’ll need help from a man who severed his ties with the other at the price of abandoning his own family.”

The world introduced in James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera’s Something is Killing the Children will grow in October with House of Slaughter, a new series that will reveal more of the back story behind the order that trained monster hunter Erica Slaughter.
Tynion and Dell’Edera will be joined by co-writer Tate Brombal, artist Chris Shehan, colorist Miquel Muerto and letterer AndWorld Design.
“Ever since our first glimpse of the House of Slaughter in Something is Killing the Children #5, I knew that there was an entire world of monsters and monster hunters outside of Erica Slaughter’s story. And once the book grew into the juggernaut of a series it’s become, thanks to all of our incredible fans, I knew I wanted to start telling those stories,” Tynion said. “I’m so honored to have the incredible Tate Brombal and the phenomenal Chris Shehan joining us to tell this exciting new story introducing everyone to the hunters Erica grew up alongside, and the other Houses within the Order of St. George, while Werther and I start plotting out Erica’s next adventure!”
