The next chapter of the X-Men begins in Hickman’s ‘Inferno’

The follow-up to ‘House of X’ and ‘Powers of X’ begins in September.

After building up a new island home for Marvel’s mutants, Jonathan Hickman plans to burn it all down in Inferno, a new miniseries coming in September.

The miniseries follows up on some of the plot elements introduced in House of X and Powers of X, the two miniseries that kicked off the Hickman era of the X-Men. While the story starts with Mystique and the broken promise by the powers that be on Krakoa to resurrect Destiny, the four-issue miniseries will also involve Moira MacTaggert, Nimrod and Hickman’s “game-changing plans” coming to a head.

“I’m very excited that we’re finally getting to share with everyone the follow-up to House of X/Powers of X,” Hickman said. “The story is 160 pages over four issues drawn exquisitely by Valerio Schiti, R.B. Silva and Stefano Caselli. I cannot wait for people to read it.”

Carey, Caselli, North, Uy venture into the ‘Negative Zone’

‘Fantastic Four: Negative Zone’ brings two stories in November.

The Fantastic Four will head into the Negative Zone this fall, courtesy of another fantastic foursome — Mike Carey and Stefano Caselli, along with Ryan North and Steve Uy.

Fantastic Four: Negative Zone will feature two stories, the first of which will feature the FF heading into the Negative Zone to deal with the fallout from one of Reed’s experiments — one that didn’t go that well. Carey and Caselli will tell that story.

“The very first Marvel comic I ever read was Fantastic Four #62, a Negative Zone story entitled ‘And One Shall Save Him!’ Maybe for that reason, both the FF and the Negative Zone have always seemed to me to be part of the Marvel Universe’s center of gravity — and part of my imaginative comfort zone,” Carey said. “In writing this story, I was trying to capture some of the anarchic wonder and craziness of those early FF epics. Do I love my job? Why yes, I do.”

New creative team takes the reigns on the next chapter of Cassie Hack’s story.

Cassie Hack, the star of Hack/Slash comics, is coming back swinging in a big way, as Image Comics announces a new series and Dynamite Entertainment announces a crossover with Vampirella.

Hack/Slash is the book people always ask me about,” said creator Tim Seeley. “I’ve been waiting for the proper time to bring it back, but I wanted to make sure I had the perfect creators first. Now that I have them, it’s time to unleash Cassie Hack on the world again.”
