Sometimes Comic-Con news can slip through the cracks amidst the huge wave of announcements that are made during the week. But hey, that’s what follow-up press releases are for. Case in point — at their panel last Saturday, Titan Comics announced the creative team for their upcoming Kull reboot.
Writer John Arcudi, artist Mark Buckingham and colorist Dave Stewart will bring the King of Atlantis back to comics in “early” 2027. Titan also shared a look at some art by Buckingham:

And, one of my favorite things for anything in the fantasy genre to share, a map! With faraway lands and sea monsters!

The publisher announced the return of Kull at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, as part of their broadening line of titles based on Robert E. Howard’s creations, but didn’t share much about it at the time. He’ll join Conan the Barbarian and Solomon Kane as part of their growing line of REH titles. Kull of Atlantis, created by Robert E. Howard, predates Conan and was first published in the 1920s, making him one of the earliest sword-and-sorcery heroes in American pulp fiction.
Buckingham is best known for his long run on Fables at Vertigo, for which he won multiple Eisner Awards, as well as for his work on Miracleman, Hellblazer and Shade the Changing Man. Stewart is one of the most sought-after colorists in comics, with Eisner wins for his work on titles including Hellboy and Ōoku. Arcudi’s credits include The Mask, B.P.R.D. and Major Bummer.
