Five Count | 5 ways to celebrate Batman Day 2026

Batman Day will arrive on Sept. 19. Check out the things you do, read, buy and more to celebrate the Dark Knight.

As we’ve noted before, Batman Day returns on Saturday, Sept. 19, and DC is once again turning the annual celebration of the Dark Knight into a global comics event.

This year’s festivities will include a new Batman/Absolute Batman one-shot, free comics, new hardcover collections, Batman masks and activities at comic shops around the world.

SDCC Slugfest | The morning after edition

With SDCC 2026 in the books, we round up news from DC, Mad Cave, Marvel and more.

Following several DC Next Level reveals and their big Eisner wins on Friday night, DC continued to roll out announcements and previews over the weekend. Here’s a rundown of what they shared …

The Metropolis & Beyond Panel held on Saturday brought news of the October debuting DC All In Saga: Darkseid vs. the World. This one is by Scott Snyder, Joshua Williamson, Sanford Greene and Yasmine Putri, and will “present the hidden past of the being called Uxus, his descent into Darkseid, and his plans for the fate of all creation.” Yes, it is a Darkseid origin story, and we’re getting a pre-teen Darkseid out of it:

DC pairs Batman + Absolute Batman in a one-shot for Batman Day 2026

‘Batman of Two Worlds’ #1 puts Matt Fraction and Scott Snyder’s takes on the Dark Knight side by side this September.

At the San Diego Comic-Con today, DC has announced Batman of Two Worlds #1, a one-shot that’ll debut for Batman Day 2026 on Sept. 19.

The issue pairs an all-new Batman story by writer Matt Fraction, artist Javi Fernández, colorist Tomeu Morey and letterer Clayton Cowles, alongside an all-new Absolute Batman story from writer Scott Snyder, artist Nick Derington, colorist Frank Martin and letterer Tom Napolitano. The regular artists for those two titles, Jorge Jiménez and Nick Dragotta, drew the cover:

Slugfest | Bad Seed, Kingdom of Zod continue in DC’s September solicitations

Things go from bad to worse for Gotham as the Super family battles General Zod.

DC’s September line-up starts strong with the introduction of three new team titles, as they bring Legion of Super Heroes, New Teen Titans and the Doom Patrol back to their line-up. But wait — there’s more! The first month of fall also brings crossovers, Absolute developments and a new Halloween special.

Let’s start first with Batman: Bad Seeds, which gets its start in August but really goes into overdrive in September, as it runs through all the Batman titles and gets a couple of spinoff miniseries.

From a milestone issue to a Dark Knight/Lex Luthor team-up, here’s a rundown of the notable items from DC’s July solicitations.

Action Comics will hit a big milestone in July as it reaches issue #1100 — following several months behind Detective Comics, which hit issue #1100 last year. The oversized issue will feature stories from creators from across the Superman titles, including Mark Waid, Skylar Patridge, Sophie Campbell, Joshua Williamson, Dan Mora, Dan Slott and more.

DC reveals Absolute Robins and the full cover for ‘Absolute Batman’ #20

Nick Dragotta’s artwork reveals a whole bunch of Robins are on their way.

Back in February, right around the time of the big ComicsPro meeting, DC shared a teaser image for Absolute Batman #20 with a big, giant “R” in the center — hinting that Robin might be arriving in the Absolute universe.

Today DC revealed the full cover for the May issue of their most popular title, and it looks like we need to make “Robin” plural:
