The Spider-Verse assembles this August in ‘Spider-Society’

Alex Segura and Scott Godlewski assemble every Spider-person they can find to battle the Sinister Squadron.

The Spider-Verse is heading into a new direction this August as writer Alex Segura and artist Scott Godlewski assemble ALL the Spidersonas in Spider-Society, a four-issue miniseries coming from Marvel.

If you picked up the recent Web of Spider-Man one-shot, which previewed several upcoming Spider-related stories, then you caught a glimpse of what’s to come. In it, Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099, was attacked by a Gwen Stacy from another universe who went on to become the Green Goblin (let’s call her Gwen Goblin from here on out). She’s part of a bigger group of multiversal Spider-villains called the Sinister Squadron, and it’ll take an army of Spiders, assembled by O’Hara and Madame Web, to stop them.

Iman Vellani + Sabir Pirzada will continue Ms. Marvel’s story in March

Artist Scott Godlewski joins the team for ‘Ms. Marvel: Mutant Menace,’ which follows the recently concluded ‘Ms. Marvel: The New Mutant.’

Although the most recent Ms. Marvel miniseries ended this week, fans of the character will be happy to learn that actress Iman Vellani and writer Sabir Pirzada will continue to tell stories featuring Kamal Khan next year.

Marvel has announced Ms. Marvel: Mutant Menace, which follows The New Mutant and features Scott Godlewski on art. Vellani, of course, plays Ms. Marvel in The Marvels and on the Disney+ show, and has proven she’s got talent on the other side of the screen as well.

“It’s been an absolute joy and privilege to get to co-write Ms. Marvel with Iman Vellani, who has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that she is THE voice of Ms. Marvel on the page just as much as she is on the screen,” Pirzada said. “We are excited to report that Kamala’s mutant journey will continue on in Ms. Marvel: Mutant Menace. It will be Kamala’s most dangerous ride yet.”

DC announces ‘Justice League vs. Legion of Super-Heroes’

Brian Michael Bendis and Scott Godlewski will bring two of DC’s powerhouse teams together in an adventure that spans time.

Two eras of DC’s greatest superheroes will team up to face a “great darkness” in a new miniseries that begins in January.

Brian Michael Bendis and Scott Godlewski will bring together the Justice League and the Legion of Super-Heroes — two teams Bendis is very familiar with — in Justice League vs. Legion of Super-Heroes. But “vs.”? I thought they were teaming up?

The story involves “The Great Darkness,” according to DC, which seems to suggest this might have a tie to what I consider the greatest Legion of Super-Heroes story of all time, “The Great Darkness Saga.” So maybe can we expect an appearance by Darkseid as well.
