Emily Carroll’s new graphic novel won’t arrive until August, but you can tide yourself over with two new comics on the creator’s website.

The first, A Pretty Place, is likely one you won’t see in print, or if you do, it won’t be the same experience. It’s an interactive comic about someone “visiting their lady,” and you can click around a map of the house to see what happens. If you’re familiar with Carroll’s work, then you can guess this is less of a romance and more of a horror comic.

Speaking of which, Carroll has also posted a fan comic for the game Bloodborne by FromSoftware.

Alex de Campi + Erica Henderson show the dark side of fandom in ‘Parasocial’

The new graphic novel arrives in October.

Image Comics has announced a new graphic novel from the creative team of Dracula, Motherf**ker. Alex de Campi and Erica Henderson will team up again for Parasocial, a thriller about fandom, celebrity and the pandemic.

Parasocial is a twisted exploitation thriller that will leave you never feeling safe at a convention again. It’s a deep dive into all the things we’ve agreed not to talk about in modern fandom and celebrity… with an ending you’ll never see coming,” said De Campi. “Most importantly, it’s Erica’s most beautiful and strikingly innovative book yet. I’m just here to cover up some of her art with words.”

Static teams with Anansi in a new special arriving in June

Static’s big summer also includes more issues of ‘Static: Shadows of Dakota.’

Static will team up with Anansi, the Akan folktale character and the god of stories, wisdom, knowledge and trickery, in a new one-shot coming in June.

DC and Milestone have announced Static Team-Up: Anansi #1, which reunites the two characters who previously met in the Static Shock animated series. The special will be written by Evan Narcisse with art by Charles Stewart III, a graduate of the The Milestone Initiative Talent Development program.
