Terry Moore’s ‘Parker Girls’ coming in August

The new series spins out of ‘Strangers in Paradise.’

I missed this when it was first announced, but Strangers in Paradise creator Terry Moore has announced his next series, Parker Girls, which will feature some familiar faces.

The Strangers in Paradise spin-off will feature appearances by several characters from that series, including Tambi, Cherry Hammer, Becky The Gun Girl, Stephanie and Katchoo, according to the creator. Several of them also appeared in the crossover series Five Years, which also featured characters from other Moore comics like Rachel Rising and Echo.

Terry Moore to launch ‘Serial’ in January

Zoe, the breakout supporting character from ‘Rachel Rising,’ will star in the series.

Strangers in Paradise creator Terry Moore has announced his next project — Serial, a 10-issue series that will star Zoe, one of his “most beloved characters.”

Zoe first appeared in the pages of Rachel Rising. She’s a young girl who was possessed by a demon for 50 years before she was able to free herself and then team up with Rachel against it. She appeared most recently in Five Years, which brought together characters from several of Moore’s comics.

Terry Moore announces new graphic novel ‘Ever: The Way Out’

The creator of ‘Strangers in Paradise’ and ‘Echo’ reveals his latest project — and teaches you to draw noses — on YouTube.

Terry Moore, who recently wrapped up the Terry Moore-iverse miniseries Five Years, has announced his next project — a graphic novel called Ever: The Way Out. He revealed the new title at the beginning of a YouTube tutorial on “How to Draw Noses.”

Moore, who self-publishes his work under the Abstract Studios banner, said this project would be different from his previous titles, as he’s releasing it as a full graphic novel rather than as single issues.

The 72-page graphic novel is about a half-angel/half-human girl who is turning 18 and finds out she’s “the key to opening the pit of darkness where … all the sinful angels are kept,” Moore said.

Binge-worthy Backlist Bonanza: Terry Moore’s ‘Strangers in Paradise’

Looking for something to read while stuck at home? The Smash Pages crew recommends a meet-up with ‘Strangers in Paradise.’

In the current climate, many industries are in a standstill as people isolate and wait out the coronavirus. The comics industry is no different, with Diamond Comic Distributors shutting down, leaving comic shops without a supply of new weekly comics.

With that in mind, we’ve introduced a new feature this week, Binge-worthy Backlist Bonzana. While new comics might not be arriving for a while, your local retailer, favorite online site, digital comics provider or even favorite creator can still supply older comics that you might not have read yet.

In this age of social distancing and isolation, there is a strong need to reconnect with old friends, fictional or otherwise. Cartoonist Terry Moore has an uncanny ability to create instant lifelong friends in his comics. His current project Five Years brings together characters from almost all of his previous comics into one storyline. As that series (and all comics) are forced into a pause, it’s a good opportunity to revisit old friends.

Support free speech with these ‘retro’ CBLDF designs

Get shirts, hats, phone cases and more featuring artwork by Frank Miller, Jeff Smith, Mike Allred, James Kochalka, Jim Lee and many others.

Over the years comic creators have donated artwork to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund for use on membership cards, T-shirts and other premiums. Many of them quickly sold out and haven’t been available for a while — until now. CBLDF has launched a Threadless shop, offering shirts and other items featuring some of their “retro” artwork.

For instance, you can get a shirt featuring Mike Allred’s Lady Liberty drawing, which graced the cover of a CBLDF anthology in 2014.
