Nominees announced for the 2023 Hugo Awards

The winners will be announced in October.

The nominees have been announced for the 2023 Hugo Awards, which includes a “Best Graphic Story or Comic” category.

Presented annually since 1955, the Hugo Awards recognize the best science fiction in books, comics, movies, TV and more. The Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story has been awarded since 2009, with previous winners including volumes of Saga, Ms. Marvel, Girl Genius, Sandman: Overture, LaGuardia, Far Sector and Monstress, which is up for the award again this year.

DUNE: The Official Movie Graphic Novel, by Lilah Sturges, Drew Johnson, Zid (Legendary Comics)

Monstress vol. 7: Devourer, by Marjorie Liu and Sana Takeda (Image Comics)

Once & Future Vol 4: Monarchies in the UK, by Kieron Gillen / Dan Mora (BOOM! Studios)

Saga, Vol. 10, by Brian K. Vaughan, Fiona Staples, Fonografiks (Image Comics)

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, by Tom King, Bilquis Evely, and Matheus Lopes (DC Comics)

The 2023 Hugo Awards will be presented on Oct. 21 at the Chengdu Worldcon in China.
