Exclusive Preview: ‘Riverdale Season 3’ #4

Check out pages from the hit TV show tie-in comic by Micol Ostow, Joe Eisma and Thomas Pitilli.

Calling The CW’s Riverdale a guilty pleasure implies that I feel guilty about watching it, which I don’t — it’s crazy bonkers fun, featuring a great cast and surprising twists. Some weeks I consider giving up all of this (motions at Smash Pages) and just starting a Riverdale recap/fan fiction site to satisfy my cravings for more.

If you feel the same way, then maybe you’re wondering how you can fill the void between now and next fall, when the new season returns and we find out what the heck happens on Spring Break? Luckily Archie Comics has been publishing comic book tie-ins to the show each season, with two more issues still to go on Season 3. Courtesy of Archie, we’re pleased to present an exclusive preview of issue #4, which arrives in stores June 26. It features two different stories, both written by Micol Ostow and drawn by artists Thomas Pitilli and Joe Eisma respectively. We’ve got pages from both.

Check it out below:

As a matter of fact, we ARE in Kansas anymore for this preview of the Black Label project from Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.

DC Comics has released a preview and some additional details on Frank Miller and John Romta Jr.’s upcoming Superman: Year One project, which starts in June. Not only do they share some interior pages, but they also have a Q&A with the creative team.

Archie returns to his ‘classic’ style in ‘Your Pal, Archie’ #1

Check out a preview of the first issue, due out July 26.

This past spring Archie Comics announced that their “classic-style” Archie would return in a new series by Ty Templeton and Dan Parent … with a small twist. Parent and Templeton have tweaked the artwork a bit, noting it “will be influenced from the styles and fashion of The CW’s hit new Riverdale TV series, but will remain familiar for fans of the classic style.”

The company has now released a preview of the first issue, which looks and feels more like the traditional Archie, but with the twist they noted in their release. The first five issues will feature connecting variant cover by Les McClaine, and there’s also an Incredible Hulk #181 tribute cover featuring Archie vs. Jughead that’s exclusive to Stadium Comics.

Check the preview out below.

Shirtless Bear-Fighter loses his pants for ‘Nude Beariant’ cover

We already know from the title of Shirtless Bear Fighter that we’ll see the main character fight bears with his shirt off, but looking at the preview pages for the new Image title, it looks like he will be pants-less as well. That point is driven even further home with the release of a “Nude Beariant” cover for the first issue, which you can find after the jump — NSFW, obviously.

Hey, if you’re already fighting bears without a shirt, who needs pants slowing you down as well?

Next spring a third Hellboy original graphic novel will arrive from Mike Mignola, Gary Gianni and Dave Stewart. Titled Hellboy: Into the Silent Sea, the OGN follows up on 2002’s “The Island” as we learn what happened next to our brave hero.

“The biblical Jonah was vomited up by a whale, but Hellboy might not be as lucky,” Gianni said in a press release. “A superstitious crew and a figure in black will make sure there’s no escaping the silent sea.” Taken captive by the phantom crew that plans to sell him to the circus, Hellboy is dragged along by a captain who will stop at nothing in pursuit of a powerful sea creature.
